Paige Hamilton has been appointed as a Bronze Singles/Pairs Judge by U.S. Figure Skating. As a "trial judge" Paige had to evaluate tests, assign marks, and make appropriate remarks on a large number of tests. These papers were assembled and evaluated by the Judges Vice Chair for Eastern Great Lakes. Paige's marks had to be in general agreement with the official judges and her remarks had to support those marks. In addition to trial judging in Columbus Paige went to Cleveland, Indianapolis, Dayton, and Cincinnati for test sessions to provide for a wider background of skating tests. Paige attended a Judges' school in Cincinnati for the new/revised MIF. She also took and passed a national written test for judges. Please congratulate Paige. She now joins the ranks of judges who give time for the advancement of figure skating. For those who do not already know, judges are not paid a salary and only have their expenses reimbursed when judging at other clubs. The cost of travel for trial judging is at the expense of the trial judge. Judges must be at least 18 years of age. Paige's birthday was in May and thus, she is probably the youngest judge at this time.
